Cecil Hook Cecil Hook (1 December 1844 - 4 February 1938) was, from 1905 to 1915, the first Bishop of Kingston in the Church of England. Hook was born on 1 December 1844 into a clerical family.〔His father was the Very Reverend Walter Farquhar Hook, sometime Dean of Chichester - ''Who was Who 1897-1990'', London, A & C Black, 1991, ISBN 0-7136-3457-X〕 He was educated at Radley School and Christ Church, Oxford.〔"University Intelligence.
